Male staff at GE Aviation have completed a hair-raising and eye-watering challenge for charity.

Six employees – Shaun Hogg, Chris Johnson, Nathan Singleton, Stuart Bedford, Simon Brown and Ben Taylor – all agreed to have their legs waxed for Wish Upon A Dream in return for donations.

And in fact, Stuart went one step further by deciding on the day to have his chest waxed at the same time as his legs.

Their efforts have raised more than £1,300 for the Manx registered charity, which grants wishes for sick and terminally ill children living in the Isle of Man.

The waxing was carried out last week by Daniella Leonetti and Alex Clarke at Purite, in Castlemona Colonnade in Douglas.

GE Aviation, which is based in School Road, Onchan, is supporting the charity this quarter.

Their next fundraiser will be a Mad Hatters tea party and bake-off, supported by MannVend.

The charity’s founder, Lesley Turnbull, said: ‘We’re terribly grateful because it was a very painful experience for them and I’d like to thank GE Aviation for choosing to support Wish Upon A Dream.

‘They have lots more events lined up to raise

Wish Upon A Dream was launched in 2007. For details on nominating a child or supporting the charity email wishuponadream@manx.net
