A charity is to hold a fun day in Onchan on Sunday (August 17).

It will be held in Onchan Park’s kickaround area and many stalls will sell a variety of crafts.

There will be entertainment all day, a colouring competition, a giant lucky dip and face painting.

Popular children’s attraction the ‘£1 Fun Fair’, where children can play on inflatables or play games for £1 a go or pay £5 for an all day fun pass, will be there too.

The event culminates in the memorial balloon release at 3pm were families can buy balloons and write a message, in memory of their Sleeping Angels.

The event is free to attend but donations will be welcome.

It is being organised by Sleeping Angel Wood, which supports families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, still birth or neo-natal bereavement and would like to plant a tree in memory of their ‘sleeping angel’.

Tori Smithies, Sleeping Angel Wood founder, said: ‘It’s going to be a fantastic day out for all the family.

‘All the funds raised will be going towards providing memory boxes at Noble’s Hospital. I would like to thank everyone who has donated, especially those that have donated money to the cause along with raffle prizes, teddy’s and lucky dip toys.’

The co-ordination of Sleeping Angel Wood’s family fun day has been completed by Creative Buzz, a creative design and marketing agency.

Pete Adamson, director of Creative Buzz, said: ‘The support Sleeping Angel Wood provides is of immense value to parents, their families and friends and Creative Buzz is delighted to support the family fun day to help raise funds for a most worthy cause.’
