David Christian has been re-elected leader of Douglas Council.
The Hills Ward councillor is the chairman of the powerful executive committee.
The council held a special meeting yesterday (Wednesday) to appoint the leader, committee chairmen and members for the municipal year starting on May 14.
On the council’s website, he says: ‘My mission is to represent the people of Douglas and work in partnership with members and officers to ensure the good governance of the council, control expenditure, further town centre regeneration and create a resilient local authority fit for modern-day needs.’
The chairman of the other committees are:
Housing and property: David Ashford.
Regeneration and community: Stephen Pitts.
Environmental services: Richie McNicholl.
Pensions: Jonathan Joughin.
Standards: Raina Chatel.
Allotments: Stephen Pitts.
