Police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man.

The ambulance service was called to attend an address in Mona Street, Douglas, shortly after 9.40am on Saturday (January 18), and it was found that the man had died before the paramedics arrived. Police also went to the address.

The police are investigating the man’s death on behalf of the Coroner of Inquests.

The cause of death has yet to be established, and is currently being described as ‘unexplained’.

The inquiry into his death is being led by officers from CID, supported by colleagues based at Douglas police station.

Sergeant Bobby Syme said: ‘We are treating the male’s death as “unexplained” and medical tests are ongoing.’

The death is the second unexplained death in the island within a week.
