Department of Education minibus accident

A MINIBUS belonging to the Department of Education was involved in a collision with a wall and a hedge at Sulby Bridge at 1pm today (Monday).

The 17-seater minibus had three male students from Ramsey Grammar School on board, plus the driver, who is a teacher at RGS, and two classroom assistants.

All six people on board the bus were uninjured, although the male driver was taken to Noble's Hospital for a precautionary check-up.

The students - two boys aged 15 and one aged 14 – are back at school and their parents have been informed.

An investigation into the cause of the accident, which happened as the bus returned to Ramsey from a school trip, is under way.

No further information is available at this stage.
