SENIOR doctors in emergency medicine gathered in Douglas for their first annual conference to be held in the island.

More than 60 delegates from the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man and even one from Perth, Australia, attended the FASSGEM (Forum for Associate Specialists and Staff Grades in Emergency Medicine) conference at the Sefton Hotel.

There were 14 speakers including Mike Clancy, president of the College of Emergency Medicine. The conference opened on Tuesday evening with a talk by David Stevens and closed on Friday lunchtime. Delegates were invited to Government House for a reception on Wednesday evening and had a tour of the TT course on Thursday accompanied by two travelling marshals.
