Dog attacks ewe

A SHEEP was injured by a dog at Langness on Monday.

The ewe was not pregnant and her injuries were not life threatening.

Constable Louise Kennaugh said: ‘We would appreciate any information in relation to this incident which has caused great concern to the owners.

‘I would like to remind dog owners that it is an offence not to have a dog under control at all times. If a dog is seen by a farmer to be actively causing distress and attacking their livestock they are able to take any action necessary to prevent this including destroying the dog.’

If you have any information in relation to this matter contact Constable Kennaugh at Castletown police station on 822222.
