Doves and Razorlight front-man at TT 2010

TWO of the UK's leading music talents have been confirmed to play at this year's TT.

Doves will play the Villa Marina on June 8 and Razorlight lead singer Johnny Borrell will play a solo show on June 10.

As founder, frontman and lead singer of Razorlight, Johnny Borrell has two 4x platinum selling albums (Up All Night and Razorlight) and a gold selling album (Slipway Fires); five UK top 10 singles including the chart topping indie classic, America and smash hits Somewhere Else, In the Morning and Wire to Wire.

At his Villa Marina show, Borrell will be playing all of Razorlight's biggest hits and a selection of his own original material.

Doves, the Manchester based Indie band, have also confirmed that they will play on the Isle of Man during the TT festival.

Their appearance at the Royal Hall comes ahead of their scheduled appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival the following weekend. With Indie anthems There Goes The Fear, Black and White Town and Snowden, Doves have firmly established themselves as one the UK's best rock bands.

They followed up their platinum selling debut album Lost Souls (UK number 6) with two further top selling albums, The Last Broadcast and Some Cities. Their latest album, Kingdom of Rust, released in 2009 reached number 2 in the UK album chart.

The Villa Marina has already announced details of the TT festival including headline appearances by former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown and leading UK comedians Al Murray and Ross Noble.

There is also a high profile stunt production scheduled every evening and fans will also be entertained with quizzes, chat shows, local music, motorcycle meetings, TT race winners parade and closing firework show.

Community Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: 'Music has latterly become a more important part of the TT festival experience and we are delighted to have now confirmed three quality headline acts for the 2010 TT Races that really complement all of the other events that are taking place.

'We now have a great TT festival lined up for 2010 that we think will appeal to a broad audience."

Tickets are priced 25 - 27.50 for Johnny Borrell and 25-27.50 for Doves and will be on sale at 9am on Saturday, April 17, at the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal and on the Ticket Hotline on 01624 600555.

Tickets will not be available at the Villa Marina.

Subject to availability, tickets will be available online on Monday, April 19.

Job well done to Paul Phillips!

Classic line up for the week. Puts the Bay Festival to shame. Nice work.

JP

After last years appalling TT we can say that some one has got the finger on the pulse this year, well done you.

SEAN

Pretty decent. Can honestly say only Calvin Harris worth bothering with at the Bay Festival. Try and get more Hard Rock/Metal bands for TT

MW

Cracking TT entertainment lined up! Beats the Bay Festival already. I can see this year's TT entertainment killing off any hope the Bay Festival had.

MATT

What a fantastic turn around. Finally we have the entertainment to match the awesome spectacle of the racing… I'm booking my ferry immediately!

JOHN CRELLIN (a former Manx resident and life long fan of the TT)

I think that's a picture of Elbow that you've got on the site.

GW

Maybe not.

Very impressed with this TT's line up, Doves are superb!! Johnny Borrell is fantastic! Ian Brown is definitely not to be missed! At last a bit of credible music for grown-ups in the Isle of Man! Well done to the organisers!!

JANE

Just a shame that the tickets will be limited and go to IOM residents before the bikers even get to the IOM, should be put on it the gardens to give all the tourists a chance of a ticket , oh well there's always the fire works display for them ………

SCOTTYDOGG

SCOTTYDOGG We have tickets available for off island residents for all of the entertainment at this year's TT.

Kind regards
