An elderly couple, both aged 91, have been taken to Noble’s Hospital for treatement following a house fire in Port Erin.

Firefighters were sent to the scene in Station Road at around 11.45am.

Officers wearing breathing apparatus and carrying thermal image cameras entered the building while hose reels tackled the blaze.

An update on the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service Facebook page at 12.40pm confirmed the fire had been extinguished.

Police forensic and fire investigation teams are conducting investigations at the scene.

A police update said: ‘At this time there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident.’
