Entries are open now for Shoprite’s annual Cycle for Life event.

Taking place on Sunday, September 14, it offers something for riders of all abilities and ages.

Children of all ages are invited to take part in a family fun cycle along Douglas promenades.

Riders over the age of eight will cycle from the Sea Terminal to Summerland and back.

While younger riders will turn round at the war memorial.

All participants will receive a free souvenir T-shirt and there will be free refreshments.

The family fun cycle will start at 9.15am, register at 8.45am.

Meanwhile, a TT relay cycle will see teams made up of seven riders race to be the king of the mountain.

A rider from each team will ride the five to six mile stages.

Cyclists wanting to tackle the whole TT Course themselves will compete in the solo time trial.

There is a £3,000 prize up for grabs if you can break the existing lap record, set by Chris Boardman in 1993.

All the money raised from the event will donated to Crossroads Care and the Isle of Man Association of Boxing Clubs.
