Facebook farm features Manx loaghtan sheep

MANX TOUCH: Players of Facebook game FarmVille 2 can keep loaghtan sheep

MANX TOUCH: Players of Facebook game FarmVille 2 can keep loaghtan sheep

A POPULAR game available to millions of users on Facebook has been given a Manx touch.

FarmVille 2 from Zynga, sees players cultivate their farms by ploughing, planting and harvesting crops and trees and caring for their farm animals.

One of the animals that players can keep is none other than the Manx loaghtan sheep.

There are two images – a ‘baby’ loaghtan which after ‘eight baby bottles’ matures into an adult, complete with four horns.

Players have to work up to stocking loaghtan sheep.

Its brown wool can be sold at the market or used in the workshop to make a spindle. And wool from ‘prized’ loaghtans – achieved after adult sheep have been fed for a certain length of time – can be sold for more.

FarmVille was the top game by daily active users on Facebook between August 2009 and December 2010.
