Port St Mary’s lifeboat was sent to help after a fisherman fell out of his vessel about 24 miles east of the island last night.

He had fallen into the sea from a Scottish fishing vessel named Aztec.

However, the fishing crew found him and he was brought back on board before the lifeboat, and the reserve lifeboat Blue Peter VII from Fishguard and an RAF helicopter from Anglesey arrived at the fishing vessel at midnight.

He was taken by the helicopter for treatment at Noble’s Hospital.
