The League of Friends of Noble’s Hospital present a new video system, including a monitor and disposable scopes, to the speech and language therapy department.

This will enable medical staff to see clearly into the patient’s larynx and assess if there are any serious conditions.

Being portable, it will greatly enhance the care, comfort and safety of patients, as it can be carried out at a bedside if necessary, and avoids the need for X-rays.

The League of Friends is a charity that principally buys items for patients’ comforts, the most popular of which are courtesy packs containing overnight toiletries for emergency admissions to hospital.

Christmas presents and Easter eggs are also bought for all patients, and certain equipment for the hospital too. These are all bought using money left to the League, mainly in legacies and donations.

Currently a new TV system is being installed at Noble’s Hospital, whereby every bed will have its own TV. The League of Friends is contributing towards funding this system.
