A couple who embarked on a romantic mission to have a kiss on every pier in the British Isles returned to Ramsey to sign copies of a book about their exploits.
Hazel and Jay Preller met on Weston’s Grand Pier in 2007 and during the next two years they travelled 7,000 miles to complete their serial kissing marathon, ending up on Brighton Pier in 2010, where they got married.
Ramsey’s Queen’s Pier was the 35th of 56 British piers they visited, in May 2009. Friends of Queen’s Pier chairman Fred Hodgson intervened to get the harbour division to unlock the gates of the long-closed landmark so the couple could be photographed having their kiss.
The Prellers signed copies of From Piers to Eternity at St Paul’s bookshop in Ramsey on Saturday.
