Castletown Festival will be held this Saturday, August 2, with a packed programme of fun for everyone.
The day kicks off at midday, with a fancy dress competition in Victoria Road Primary School.
This will be followed by a parade to the square, where there will be stalls, games, refreshments, bouncy castles, children’s fashion contests, bonny baby competitions, a performance by the group Shoddy Woddy, an open air disco with Mark Cowin Disco, and grand confetti carnival, which includes a Beyoncé tribute act followed by a firework display.
Festival committee chairman Tony Brown said: ‘Castletown Festival day is a wonderful and unique community event and a lot of work is undertaken by the committee and many helpers, all of whom are volunteers who all give their time to support the community.
‘Our thanks also go to our many sponsors whom we are most grateful to for their most valuable support, without which we could not hold the event.’
On Sunday the Ocean Ford Transport Extravaganza of vintage and classic vehicles will take place from 1.45pm to 5pm in the town.
