Get your vehicle checked for winter
MOTORISTS can have their vehicles ‘health checked’ ahead of the fast-approaching autumn and winter months.
An open evening is to be held at the Vehicle Test Centre in Tromode on Friday, September 28, between 4pm and 8pm when experts will be on hand to help make sure that drivers vehicles are fit for the road.
In addition, at the open evening being held by the Department of Infrastructure’s Road Safety Team, there will be demonstrations of how to make basic checks from tyre pressure and tread to headlights and windscreen wipers and everyone is welcome whether you have a motorbike, car, van or even horsebox.
There will also be a charity car wash in aid of the Douglas Lifeboat.
Infrastructure Minister David Cretney MHK said: ‘The winter months are the time when we really need to ensure that our vehicles are fit for the road. Darker and colder conditions mean that it is more important to ensure that lights, tyres, wipers and screenwash are all in order so your vehicle is as safe as possible.’
The Vehicle Test Centre is situated in Ballafletcher Road, Tromode and will be open from 4pm on Friday.
