The Lions Club Christmas Market attracted more than 500 people when it took place recently at Mount Murray.
Lions’ president Ken Barnes said the event was fortunately unaffected by the recent fire and shoppers were able to enjoy a range of stalls ranging from Robert Owen House and the Samaritans to toy stalls.
‘There was another market taking place run by Hospice on the same day at the Villa Marina, but in spite of that we had a good turn out and we were very happy with it,’ he said.
Father Christmas was there to delight the children and the Lions promoted their emergency message in a bottle campaign, encouraging people to keep emergency details in a container. Pictured are Aelish and Kurt Greyvenstein, six and four, of Mount Murray with Santa. Picture: MP131124 (12)
