Gibb fans give to the hospice

THE island’s children’s hospice, Rebecca House, has been given more than £2,500 in lieu of flowers in memory of Robin Gibb.

The family of the Bee Gee, who was born in the Isle of Man, appealed for fans to give to the good cause after his death at the age of 62 following a battle with cancer earlier this month.

Robin and his wife, Dwina, officially opened the children’s hospice in November 2008.

Margaret Simpson, chief executive of Hospice, said: ‘I clearly remember Robin, during the official opening, being keen to spend time with the children and their families at Rebecca House.’
