New and returning hockey players are invited to Ramsey Hockey Club’s club day on Saturday.

It takes place at Ramsey Grammar School’s pitch.

The morning session, from 11am to 1pm, is for senior players (aged over 16) and features the North v South Barrule Cup matches against Castletown Hockey Club.

Vice chairman Gail Corrin said: ‘If you are thinking about playing or returning to hockey please come along and meet us. The senior event will be followed by refreshments at the Swan.’

The afternoon session runs from 2pm to 3.30pm and is an open event for new and existing junior players aged eight to 16.

Gail said: ‘Please come along and have a go. There will be a variety of hockey activities run by the club coaches who will also be there to assist any players new to the sport and provide information on the club’s activities for junior members.

‘Come dressed to play with shin-pads, gum shield if you have one and a drinks bottle - we will have spare sticks to borrow. There will be light refreshments pitch side.’
