Two more town centres got festive at the weekend with the switching on of Christmas lights at Peel and Castletown.
In Atholl Place in Peel, Carnival Princess Teoni Blanchard had the honour of pressing the button.
There were Christmas carols from Crosby Silver Band, while the Peel Pantaloons appeared in costumes from their seasonal production Aladdin and commissioner Ian Davison ran the hot chestnut stall.
Earlier in the afternoon there was a Christmas lantern competition at the House of Manannan, judged by commissioners’ chairman Ray Harmer and lead member of recreation, Mr Davison.
At Castletown, the lights were switched on in the Square by athlete Robbie Callister, carnival queen Summer Katz and chairman of Castletown Commissioners Kevin Weir.
An afternoon of seasonal entertainment in the ancient capital included Manx dance group Perree Bane, the Victoria Road Primary School and Castle Rushen High School’s music groups, the Manx Operatic Society and Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band were also among those performing.
There were also Christmas carols, a food market, a treasure hunt and story time in the civic centre.
