An inquest into the death of a visitor who died in a motorcycle crash on the Creg ny Baa Back Road on August 28 has opened and adjourned.
John Hopper Greenwell, who was 58, lived in Eynsham in Oxfordshire and worked as a motor vehicle technician, died from a massive blunt force trauma to the thorax due to, or as a consequence of, a motorcycle accident.
Coroner John Needham adjourned the inquest with a date for it to reconvene yet to be fixed.
Mr Needham read brief extracts from statements from paramedic Peter Smith, Constable Stephen Hall, Constable Mark Moyer and Dr Christopher Peter Thomas Clague who performed the post mortem examination.
Mr Greenwell’s family did not attend the inquest and Coroner Needham asked for his condolences to be passed on.
