The island will mark Holocaust Memorial Day with a service at St George’s Church, Douglas on January 26, at 3pm.
Holocaust Memorial Day is marked around the world, providing an opportunity to learn lessons from the Holocaust, Nazi persecution and subsequent genocides and apply them to the present to create a safer, better future. This year’s theme is Journeys.
The congregation is asked to be seated by 2.45pm. Those attending include Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood, Bishop Robert Paterson, Tynwald president Clare Christian and Chief Minister Allan Bell along with secondary school students. Pictured is the 2013 service, at St German’s Cathedral.
