CHIEF Minister Tony Brown came under fire in the House of Keys after MHKs were notified the night before by email of last minute changes to a bill.
Mr Brown said the amended clause to the Manx Museum and National Trust (Amendment) Bill, which requires Tynwald to approve appointees, had been made following concerns raised by the Appointments Commission.
Brenda Cannell (Douglas East) said it was first time in 15 years she had been emailed a proposed amendment to a clause the night before. Juan Watterson (Rushen) said he hadn’t seen the email. ‘This is legislation on the hoof.’ The amended clause was approved.
