Learn Manx through Skype

MANX lessons will soon be offered through Skype.

Adrian Cain, Manx language development officer for the Manx Heritage Foundation, said the idea came about after he was contacted by people from overseas – including Australia, Canada and the USA – who wanted to learn the language.

He said it would also appeal to people learning in the Isle of Man who want additional support.

Mr Cain is looking for Manx speakers who would be happy to give up their time to teach on Skype.

He said: ‘You can learn about the grammar and structure from books and have lots of support material. But to speak any language, not just Manx, you need some face to face contact.’
