Commuters from the south can let the steam train take the strain during TT fortnight.

The service will operate from today (Tuesday) to Friday of practice week (May 27-30) and Monday to Thursday of Race Week (June 2-5)

Trains will leave Port Erin at 7.45am and return from Douglas at 4.45pm or 5.45pm.

The service will at all stations and the full journey time is one hour.

New for 2014 will be the opportunity for morning passengers to enjoy breakfast on board the dining car. Full English breakfast served on a fireman’s shovel at £7.95 and continental breakfast at £5 will be available

To guarantee a seat in the Dining Car, full breakfasts can be booked by contacting the booking clerk on 697457 or via email to steamdining@gov.im

Bus fares apply on the TT commuter trains and multi journey saver tickets will also be accepted.

A single journey from Port Erin to Douglas costs £3.10 single or £5.70 return, payable at the station. From Castletown the fare is £2.70 single and £5 return.

Manx Rider 12-journey tickets, costing £30 for the full route (12 journeys), must be purchased in advance. These are available from the Welcome Centre in Douglas Sea Terminal, main bus and rail stations and other outlets as specified on page five of the published timetable.
