Living Hope goes Live at the Villa

THE Living Hope Community Church is holding a community event at the Villa Marina tomorrow (Sunday) at 10.30am called Unite.

It will be a morning of celebration with live band music and an encouraging message. The event is free and is open to everybody.

Speaking about the event, Jonathan Stanfield, senior pastor of Living Hope Community Church, said: 'The Unite event gives us the opportunity to join as one community and celebrate God's faithfulness throughout our journey and more specifically through difficult times in 2009.

'We are particularly thankful to now be in a position to open a third Living Hope Community Church location in Peel and the Unite event will serve the purpose of welcoming our third pastor Euan MacRae, and his wife, Karen, who grew up on the Island, and their children, Holly and Conor to the Island and to the Peel congregation. Euan joins Adrian and myself on the pastoral leadership team.'

Living Hope Community Church was founded in April 1990, under the name Port St Mary Baptist Church. The new church building was opened in February 2002 and the final payment of the mortgage was made at the end of 2006. In January 2008, a second church location was opened in Douglas, using Ballacottier School for Sunday celebration services by kind permission of Suzanne Kirk from the Department of Education, but it is now too small to support the growing congregation.

Jonathan Stanfield added: 'In order to support the rapid growth in the congregation, our Douglas location will now be at the Hilton Hotel as from February 14.

'On this day the church will also open its third location which will meet at the Phillip Christian Centre in Peel. We have much to be thankful to the community for.'
