Mannin Kennel Association has held its open dog show at Mount Rue Equestrian Centre, with 106 dogs competing for the prizes.
The show was judged by Sean Knight from County Cork in Ireland and the winners are listed below.
Best in the Show award went to ‘Chrisvale Man in Black’, a Belgian shepherd dog, owned by Kirsty Rowson, and handled by Janetta Taylor.
The Reserve Best in Show Award was won by ‘Dizame Detonator at Ynchreenoo’, a hairless Chinese crested, owned by Laura Merryweather and Sam Fletcher, and handled by Laura.
The third Best in Show prize went to the flat coated retriever, ‘Bonnyhilbrae Deep Secret’ owned by Jeff and Cathy Kelly, and handled by Jeff.
Fourth Best in the Show was a dog also owned by Laura Merryweather and Sam Fletcher, their pharoah hound, ‘Ch Islephar Strike a Pose at Ynchreenoo’, handled by Sam.
Cathy Kelly also won the ‘Anne Kniveton Trophy’ with her flat coated retriever ‘Bonnyhilbrae Black Pearl’, for the dog gaining most points over the six shows held on the island since last September.
Best Puppy in the Show went to ‘Witchstone En Vogue’ owned by Neil and Sally Cracknell, handled by Sally.
Reserve puppy in the show went to ‘Walamadengie Leahana’, owned by Tracy Nicol and handled by her partner, Chris.
A border terrier also owned by Neil Cracknell, in partnership with A.Cowin, called ‘Moddeyaalin Shibbyr Idun’ and handled by Neil went on to win the ‘Western Australian Terrier Trophy’ and rosette, donated by the Australian club with whom the Mannin Kennel Association is twinned.
The points trophy on the day was won by the Best Labrador Retriever in the show, ‘Aalin Carrey Fairy Dust’, owned and handled by Stella Crellin.
Best Junior Handler went to Miss Natasha Moore handling a siberian husky, with runner-up Sophie MacDonald handling a rough collie.
