More details on Woodford election trust

Waiting for Video...

KEVIN Woodford’s election trust existed only briefly and had only £100 in it.

The Manx Independent today reveals more about the trust’s short history. It’s the front page story and we’ve posted video online of an interview conducted by Isle of Man Newspapers editor Richard Butt and Paul Moulton, then working for Granada Television, of the candidate.

The by-election was the subject of a trial late last year because of vote rigging.

On page 3 we report the latest on Darryl McGeown, who was badly injured before Christmas.

Page 2 includes an in-depth report on the future of democracy in the island. The Boundary Review Committee wants to reshape the Keys’ constituencies. This is a crunch year for that.

Inside the paper, we have lots of photos of New Year Dips, from Michael to Gansey.

Have you watched our video of the dip in Laxey yet?

Our sports coverage includes a report on a plan to set up a campsite at the NSC for TT. The idea isn’t popular among some.

The Manx Independent is in the shops now.
