Mountain road to open again

THE mountain road is to open again today at 3.30pm after government workers have spent hours clearing it.

The Department of Infrastructure says the road is passable with extreme care as conditions are still bad after the snowfall on Friday and Saturday.

A spokesman this morning said the road had significant amounts of snow on it and drifts were up to four feet deep in some places.
