New plan submitted for Grand Island site
A NEW planning application (12/01041/B) has been submitted for flats at the site of the former Grand Island Hotel in Ramsey.
Seymar Developments, of Andreas, has applied to the government planning committee for 35 flats with four levels plus underground paking, site roads and landscaping. The flats would be set in five blocks of seven units (totaling 35 flats).
It also asked for the provision of a gatehouse and an MEA substation.
A previous plan for the site was to replace the hotel with a luxury development of three blocks totaling 68 flats.
The Grand Island Hotel was demolished and Seymar has been building the new Mooragh Park Hotel in Ramsey, which is nearing completion. A condition of that planning approval was that the work on the Grand Island site couldn’t start until the hotel opened.
