PAG meeting on surveillance and civil liberties

DOES big brother beckon?

That is the question being asked at a Positive Action Group meeting on Monday (March 2).

Data protection supervisor Iain MacDonald will be the guest speaker at the event at the Manx Legion Club, Market Hill, Douglas.

PAG chairman Roger Tomlinson said: 'Some members of PAG are concerned about the gradual erosion of personal liberty with the adoption, by our own government, of UK measures that may be inappropriate for us here.

'Closely aligned is the public disquiet about the security of personal information held by various public and commercial bodies.'

Admission to the meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, is free.
