PC Fiona Bone remembered

TRIBUTE: Fiona Bone

TRIBUTE: Fiona Bone

Huge crowds lined the streets of Manchester today in memory of a police officer who lost her life in the line of duty.

A massive show of public support marked the funeral at Manchester Cathedral of PC Fiona Bone.

Fiona’s family, who live in Port St Mary, were among thousands of mourners in the city. They were joined by schoolfriends including Juan Watterson MHK.

Fiona, 32, was described at the hour-long service as a wonderful officer of many contrasts - a ‘gentle little bookworm but a strong and brave rock of a woman’.

Fiona was killed in a gun and grenade attack alongside her colleague and friend PC Nicola Hughes, 23, who was laid to rest after a similar funeral service on Tuesday.
