Pedestrian seriously injured in Peel accident

A PEDESTRIAN received serious injuries in a traffic collison in Peel last night (Friday).

It happened at 10.30pm on the main Peel to St John's road, near to Peel cemetery.

Police said: 'Involved was a Mercedes motor vehicle which was being driven towards St John's by a male from Douglas.

'This vehicle has been in collision with a male pedestrian. The pedestrian was conveyed to Noble's Hospital where he was detained with serious injuries.

'Police would like to speak to anybody who was travelling along the main Peel to St John's road prior to the collision and who may have seen a pedestrian walking towards St John's.

'Anyone with information is asked to contact the Road Policing Unit at Police Headquarters on 631212.'

No details about the Mercedes, the age of those involved, where the pedestrian is from and what his injuries are have been released by police.
