A MAD Sunday extravaganza is planned for Peel this year with attractions on the sea front and activities throughout the town.
The June 5 spectacular will see the promenade and town centre transformed in to a carnival of street entertainment.
To add to the party atmosphere there will also be live music and an enticing variety of food stalls to cater for all tastes.
Event manager Candy Atcheson said she thought last year’s Peel Mad Sunday event had been disappointing.
This year, she said, Peel Commissioners had asked her business, A3 Island Marquees, to be the organisers of the event so they were anxious to meet expectations.
Her husband John said: ‘The challenge of organising Peel in Motion felt like a natural progression and because my family and I live and work in Peel it is extra special for us.’
Organisers are expecting 4,000 people to attend this year’s event.
Manx Sea Quest will be providing boat trips along the coast for visitors.
In addition to this, Moore’s Kippers will be organising a treasure hunt.
The Simply Stupid circus show and acrobatic dance troupe will be performing and their giraffe cyclists and stilt walkers will be providing mobile entertainment around the town.
Peel man Nick Barlow will be showing off his chain saw sculpture skills. There will also be many attractions to support various charities, not least a bikini bike wash to raise money for the Joey Dunlop Foundation.
Among the food on offer there will be a noodle bar, Tex Mex, a hog roast, doughnuts, candy floss and ice cream. Other attractions include a farmers’ market and vintage car and bike display.
