Police appeal for witnesses to come forward

Police this afternoon (Thursday) appealed for witnesses who saw a disturbance outside a takeaway in downtown Douglas to come forward.

Two young men were involved in a scuffle inside the Star Grill Takeaway, Castle Street, at about 2am on Saturday, July 28.

The scuffle carried on outside.

The two men confronted each other outside Sam Webb’s pub and were separated by another man.

A number of witnesses have already come forward but there were other people in the area at the time.

Sergeant Neil Craig said: ‘I would like to appeal to anyone in the area at this time to come forward and speak to me as they may have information to assist us in our inquiries.’
