Have your say

Police have hit out after furniture was fly-tipped in a picturesque part of the west of the island.

The three-piece suite and headboard was discovered by police dumped at the side of the Baldwin Road about 500 metres from its junction with the Brandywell cottage, Kirk Michael.

It was subsequently removed by Michael Commissioners.

A police spokesman said: ‘There are civic amenity sites all over the island and this type of offence is clearly unacceptable and ruins the enjoyment of the countryside for the public.

‘Please let us know if you have information about this matter. You may have paid a third party to get rid of the sofa, if so we would like to speak to you.’

Constable Gav Callow, based at Peel police station, is investigating. Phone 842208.
