CHIEF Minister Allan Bell today unveiled the full line-up of his government – with the announcement of appointments of political members to departments.
And for the first time in many years, all members of Tynwald have been given a government post.
These include Liberal Vannin MHKs Zac Hall, appointed as a political member of the Department of Education and Children, joining Lib Van leader and fellow Onchan MHK Peter Karran who was named Minister of that Department earlier this month.
Mr Bell said: ‘I am very please that for the first time in a number of years, all eligible members of Tynwald will be involved in the work of government.
‘In these challenging times, it is particularly important that everyone has the opportunity to make a positive contribution for the good of the Isle of Man and its people.’

Mr Bell said the allocation of political members to the departments had been easier than expected.
He said he had had extensive discussions with Mr Karran and the other Lib Van MHKs and they had all agreed to work with government given the serious challenges facing the island’s economy.
He said members would still have freedom to vote against government policy, except for their own department’s policies.
He said he wanted to ‘freshen up’ the department’s political membership on a ‘fairly regular basis’ which would consider members’ requests to transfer to different departments.
‘This has been a full-time job to put government together. I’ve put in long hours to assess what shape our government should be. Really the hard work starts today. Now is the time to move on to the development of strategy.’
