Port Erin Lifeboat called out to help teenage swimmers

THE lifeboat was launched after a report of swimmers getting into difficulty in Port Erin bay.

Liverpool Coastguard received a 999 call on Friday evening after three teenagers were found struggling to make it to shore.

The lifeboat was launched at 8.45pm - just as the trio were taken out of the water by another boat and transported to Port Erin jetty.

Lifeboat officials checked the swimmers were in good health and the vessel returned to the station at 9.15pm.
