Artwork designed by residents is now on display on Onchan Commissioners’ refuse vehicles.
Year three Onchan School pupil Harry Callin, Bethany de Legh-Runciman, and Margaret Bendall were the three winners of the commissioners’ competition to design a poster that would encourage residents in the district to recycle.
Commissioners’ chairman Derek Crellin and members of staff are pictured with the winners in front of the newly-decorated refuse wagons.
Both Margaret and Harry’s posters focused on the locations in the district where residents can recycle, while Bethany’s artwork included the range of items that can be taken.
The local authority pulled out of the three-year trial kerbside recycling scheme in 2011.
Since then, Douglas Corporation and Braddan Commissioners have continued with the scheme.
In Onchan residents have to take items to recycling stations.
