POSTIES GO THAT EXTRA MILE

WITH no address to write to, a letter to try and find an old friend was sent 'on a wing and a prayer'.

Bristol man Martin Parsons was keen to get back in touch with Island resident Dave Creasey, who he shared digs with at university in Stoke-on-Trent a decade ago.

But he didn't have an address and, with his fingers crossed, put all the information he had available about Dave's family together and posted an envelope simply addressed to his old friend's dad, in the hope it would eventually reach his university pal.

'Dave Creasey, who has a son called Dave Creasey and a brother who has a fast food van, Isle of Man', the envelope read.

Amazingly, the letter reached the intended recipient!
