Firefighters and paramedics were called to rescue a two-year-old girl yesterday (Sunday) morning.
They went to Reservoir House, West Baldwin, at about 8am, after getting a report about the child being trapped in a door mechanism.
The child was trapped alone behind her bedroom door with her finger stuck in the locking mechanism, making it impossible to get into the room.
Sub Officer Quirk, in charge of Green Watch, sent his crew to place a ladder up to the locked first floor bedroom window to enable the crew to see the child.
Then by using breaking-in tools, the crew forced their way through the bedroom door to release the child into the care of the ambulance service and her parents.
