There was a packed programme of competition classes and ringside entertainment at this year’s Royal Manx Agricultural Show.

Thousands of visitors flocked to the two-day show at Knockaloe to enjoy everything from falconry displays and a dog and duck show to craft stalls, Manx Food Court, and competitions featuring a range of animals and livestock. Graham Watterson’s five-year-old British Blue cow Chibbanagh Aalish and calf was named Supreme Champion.

He said it was ‘an honour to have the title’.

First reserve went to the Sandash Farm Ltd’s Holstein Sandash Sept Storm Nellie while Peter Quayle’s Simmental bull Pasturefield Turbo Tommy, which was named Supreme Champion at the Southern District Agricultural Show last month, took second reserve.

Third reserve was Mr and Mrs P.A. Kermode’s Texel ewe.

It was another successful year for Ynchreenoo show dogs, based in Maughold.

Sam Fletcher and Laura Merryweather’s two-year-old Pharaoh Hound Vaskurs Linford Christie Skumpanson (pet name Muddy) won Best in Show in Friday’s open dog show while their Chinese crested Ynchreenoo Condoo (Rudy) won the Best Puppy in Show title.

Full results and lots more pictures appear in this week’s Isle of Man Examiner.
