Tynwald approved an amendment to an EU sanction on people connected with Russia’s annexation of the Crimea region.

Minister for Policy and Reform Chris Robertshaw explained to the court: ‘It amends the criteria for the freezing of assets to include legal persons, entities of bodies in Crimea or Sevastopol, whose ownership has been transferred contrary to Ukranian law, and also bodies that have benefited from such a transfer.’

Meanwhile, members approved lifting a pre-existing arms embargo and restriction of certain other equipment in respect of the Republic of Guinea, in West Africa.
