Soaked highway worker complains to the police

PEEL police are dealing with a complaint after a Department of Infrastructure worker was soaked to the skin by two vehicles while he was clearing drains.

Due to the recent adverse weather conditions the DoI has had extra work in clearing roads and blocked drains to make the roads safe and passable for the public.

The police released a press statement to say: ‘Police would ask motorists to be extra vigilant during these periods of extreme weather, being mindful of staff working in and around the roads.

‘Police accept that the majority of motorists do take care. However, unfortunately sometimes there are one or two who do not.’
