Thieves who stole wedding flowers from church could be caught blue-handed

Have your say

A COUPLE’S wedding dreams have been spoiled after heartless thieves stole flowers from the church they are due to marry in.

The flowers were taken from inside Kirk Braddan Church earlier this afternoon.

The flowers, dyed blue roses which have to be ordered especially from florists, were to play a central part in the wedding and awaited arrangement at the back of the church.

The theft is believed to have taken place between 12.30 and 3pm.

Priest-in-charge of Kirk Braddan Revd Daniel Richards said: ‘It takes a pretty desperate sort of person to steal from a church, but even more so when it’s flowers from a wedding.

‘Being the church, we’re naturally eager to help people realise they don’t need to resort to this sort of thing, particularly when it’s from a place of the community and an event that is about happiness.’

The roses are navy blue and leave traces of dye on hands. Anyone with information is asked to call Douglas police or Kirk Braddan on 675523.
