WITH less than a week to go, there are still tickets available to watch the Commonwealth Youth Games.
Despite the fact that budgetry targets have been met, no single event is fully booked.
‘We always knew that gymnastics and swimming would go very well,’ said CYG director Geoff Karran.
‘And the opening ceremony is nearly full.’
However, filling some of the bigger venues such as boxing and athletics has been challenging and, of the 3,000 available, only 1,400 rugby sevens seats are sold.
Mr Karran added that off-island sales from the families of travelling athletes had been brisk, but, as is typical, Manx people seemed to be a ‘bit slow on the take up’.
However, he warned local sports fans that they needed to get a move on if they didn’t want to be dissapointed and find out all tickets had gone.
Tickets for the opening ceremony are priced at £15. Full day seats in the main grandstand are £10 (covered) or £6 (open-air).
