Traffic problems following Manx Grand Prix crash

A SECTION of the Manx Grand Prix course which was closed following this morning's fatal crash at Alpine Cottage has now reopened.

The majority of the Mountain Course reopened at 2pm with the exception of the stretch between Orrisdale North and Ballaugh Bridge.

The section remained closed until around 4.15pm while police investigations continue into the accident.

Motorists trying to get around the closed section faced further disruption following a small collision which made Orrisdale Road impassable.

Roads will close tomorrow (Thursday) at 11.30am, with racing starting at about 12.15pm, and are expected to re-open between 3pm and 4pm.

With regard to the Ramsey Sprint event on Thursday, Bowring Road will re-open for the day and signs have been erected for some time along the route to indicate this change.

Drivers are being urged to pay particular attention when using this route as they may have become used to the diversion route.
