A post-mortem examination has revealed the cause of the death of Albert the tram horse.

He from cardiac failure.

Albert died suddenly on May 13 while leading a tram,.

In his report to Douglas Council veterinarian to the tram horses Raymond Cox, MVB, MRCVS, said the body ‘did not have signs of recent trauma’.

He added: ‘Gross examination of the internal abdominal organs did not reveal any significant pathology.’

He concluded: ‘It is my opinion that Albert died from cardiac failure.’
