TWO IN COURT ON MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE
TWO drainage firm employees have appeared in court charged with manslaughter.
Philip Alexander Firth, 46, and David Martin Jones, 51, of Island Drainage and Groundwork, are charged in connection with the death of teenager cyclist James Berry.
The address of both defendants, who were represented by advocated Jim Travers, was given in court as Ballacutchel Farm, Mount Murray, which is the base of Island Drainage and Groundwork.
Thirteen-year-old James Berry, of Olaf's Close, Governor's Hill, Douglas, died in Noble's Hospital on December 29, the day after he was involved in an accident on Douglas to Peel road at Greeba.
High Bailiff Michael Moyle adjourned the case to October 10 and granted bail to both defendants.
