Craig Bennett, the UK Friends of the Earth’s director of policy and campaigns, will speak at an event being staged by the Isle of Man branch of the environmental organisation tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 7pm.
The free talk will take place at Keyll Darree, next to Noble’s Hospital in Braddan, starting at 7pm.
Mr Bennett will offer his observations on what the future might hold for an island economy such as ours – and what actions residents and politicians should be taking to secure a safe, healthy and prosperous future.
Also during his time in the island, Mr Bennett will visit the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture in St John’s to meet members of the Environmental Health and Climate Team. He’ll also visit the Manx Electricity Authority headquarters for a meeting with director Phil King and Department of Economic Development’s senior manager for energy policy, Ken Milne, and will take a trip to Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel to meet senior students who were involved in winning environmental awards.
